From what is out there can you advise me what is good or what is not, i.e. what grade is best? What is fast and what is a good quality brand?

Supermod Mikealder can best advise on brands in the UK. Some I might suggest (like Kingston and SanDisk may not be readily available. I don't know).

Class 6 if you can afford it.
