Your 5200 is capable of 2.4GHz WiFi, and not anything above that. If you're specifically asking about WiFi 6 and WiFi 7, those didn't even exist when your 5200 was being designed.

WiFi 6 routers were first being sold in Late 2019. Your 5200 was first introduced for sale in 2016.

thank you for your prompt reply. Appreciated

Not an expert on the subject - but maybe something that can help.
We recently moved to latest plusnet wifi - with a dual band plusnet router.
My Go 5200 still works with the router as the dual band auto switches to 2.4GHz as necessary. Our ring cameras are also 2.4GHz and they work fine.
Looks like Virgin routers are also dual band (according to Google - but also states the dual band is Intelligent wifi so should be automatic) - so maybe there a setting on your router that needs to be switched on to enable 2.4GHz - or possibly the 2.4GHz is known by another ID on the router.
Worth a Google to see if Virgin can give any pointers

Either manually configure your Virgin WiFi to split 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, or you could plug your old router into the Virgin router to use it as an access point with your TomTom. Plug lan port to lan port, you’d need to turn off DHCP on the old router (probably ok in the first few minutes, but will cause issues if you have dual dhcp for any length of time).
There may be other settings to configure to just use the router as an access point (rather than as a modem / router / access point)

My WiFi automatically gives a choice of 5G upload/download speed or 2.4G speed the 5200 is too old for 5G speeds I have a 6200 which also cannot use 5G speeds you can only connect at 2.4G speeds to your network. Check your router instructions and enable 2.4G connections it will then show on your device and you can then connect with the same password as for 5G
