New TomTom old software!

I've been using the TomTom GO app on my Samsung tablet. Was quite happy with it, especially the new software which is a major improvement. However, the tablet started playing up and I replaced it with a TomTom 620 supreme.
I was amazed and extremely disappointed to see that the device is still running the old software.
I'm thinking of sending it back to TomTom for a refund. This is supposed to be their flagship product and yes it's an Android device.

To date, the only device ever released with code similar to what is found in the GO app for the phone was the 7" TomTom Bridge, which was a true Android (although 4.3) device - you'd recognize the Anroid interface - primarily designed for commercial fleets, dispatch, etc. That's not to say that a new device might not come along that looks like the Android GO app, but there's been nothing like that made available yet.
