New phone/lost all My Places

I just moved over from an iPhone 15 to a 16 Plus, signed into my TomTom account, but unlike last time I swapped phones, I have lost all of my saved places.

Is there anyway to get these back?
 
If you connect your phone to your Mydrive account, you should be able to retrieve them without any problems.
Have you checked that you are logged in to your phone with the same login details as your account?
 
I’ve opened the MyDrive app, and that is now completely empty of all my places too.

It is as if all my data has been wiped. It was all there a day ago on my old phone.

I just did a backup and restore. I’m so confused.
 
Do you still have your old phone?
If yes, connect your phone to mydrive again and then the new phone.
 
What must have happened is that you reset your old phone while it was still connected to your Mydrive account.
 
The places are stored in the cloud. Can you make sure that you sign in with the correct email?
 
I'd still like you to log in on Plan.TomTom.com and check there. That uses by far fresher code than the MyDrive app.
 
Thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated. I have logged into the website as requested and that is also completely empty. I just can’t work out why backing up a phone and then restoring it would delete all the data from a third-party website?
 
It's not an issue with synchronising then as I had assumed. I'm afraid your places have really been deleted then. It's not something I've seen before. It's certainly not expected behaviour since - as you say - that data is stored with a third party.
 
I’ve just added lots of new places using the MyDrive app, apart from my home and work address, which I added into the TomTom GO app. The places I added in the MyDrive app on the phone, also appear in the web-based planner. My home and work address that I added in the TomTom GO app, do not appear on the web based planner.

The places added in MyDrive are not appearing in tom-tom go on my phone, and my home and work address added on TomTom GO do not appear in my drive. I have signed into both using the same email account address. How do I synchronise the phone with MyDrive?

I did uninstall the TomTom GO app yesterday and reinstall it. There seem to make no difference.

Right, I uninstalled and reinstalled TomTom Go again, and now it is syncing. Still don’t know what has been going on. Thanks for your help again.
 
No, TomTom go was showing me as logged in the whole time (I logged out and back in several times). The only thing I did differently on the last install is only install the one recommended map to start with. On all the other installations I had selected most of Europe straight away, although this probably has nothing to do with it!
 
May I ask if there's a reason for preferring the MyDrive app for adding places over the GO Navigation app or Plan.TomTom.com?
