Hello everyone. this is our 2nd GPS. Have a question though. What is the 'navigation' option that is missing from the 530s but is included in the 340S? Anyone know?

I think the 340S has Advanced Lane Guidance functionality while the XL530S does not.

They both do actually. My problem is we need 2 GPs', and we bought 3 - 2 340S and 1 530S (wife didin't tell me she was buying this one) and I need to return one but don't know the difference between the 340 and the 530. According to the TomTom web site the 540 doesn't have a 'navigation' module. I'd like to know what that is.

Sorry, I just do not see what you are referring to. The whole purpose of ALL gps units is to be able to navigate from point A to point B, certainly including the 540.

Can you explain further?

When you go through the selection wizard, and select both for comparison, the one difference besides screen size and price is the following:

XL340S XXL530-S
Navigation Package Y N

that is what I am referring to.

Okay, I see what you are referring to now.

The 530 XXL does NOT include Advanced Lane Guidance and Reality View. It does include IQ routing.

The 340S has all the features listed.
