TomTom Model(s)
Start 55M, Rider 4GD00
The wireless headset battery for my Tomtom Rider 1 won't take a charge so I need a new battery.
I can't find one anywhere. The battery number is AE501647P
Anyone know where to get one?
And NO this battery is NOT for the Tomtom unit itself but for the wireless headset that came with theunit.
Tomtom says they no longer support this model.

It may not be possible to find it under the original battery manufacturer's part number (it's not a TT part number). When that happens, it becomes necessary to get a lot more creative. The key features are:

Volts (probably 3.7V, but I don't know this with any certainty at all)
Current (some number of mA [milliamps])
Dimensions (easily enough measured)
and
Connector (unless you are handy with an iron and can splice your old one to the wires of the correct battery pack).

If you can supply that info off the existing pack, perhaps we can help you round up a replacement. You may even find that carrying it into a Batteries Plus will get you some good results. If not...

It has always been my understanding that any of the similar Bluetooth units that work on the Bluetooth A2DP profile will work with a Rider 1.

Good stuff. His 2.8V was on a dead pack. They also believe there that it should be 3.7V (since that's the charger voltage output!) -- something normal for a lithium ion pack.

They supplied some dimensions that the OP can verify on his:

Length: 48mm without cable (41mm silver part)
Width: 16mm
Thickness: 4mm

Poster there also provided photos, replicated here. Connector looks like a pretty typical little Molex unit, but would be easy to swap back onto a pack if we can get one located.
