The problem with this is that it was previously possible to get around the extra cost of some carriers' Bluetooth tethering plans. The MyDrive app doesn't use any of the Bluetooth profiles one might normally use for Bluetooth 'tethering', so it isn't blocked by the carriers that normally charge extra to open up tethering on their phones.
