Hi folks,
I hope everyone is keeping well.
I was disappointed that my TomTom Go Superior 7 did not pick up the recent change in reduced speed from 100Km/h to 80Km/h on the N25 Ballynamona, Glenmore, Kilkenny (Ireland) and this proved costly as I got hit with a €160 fine and 3 penalty points deduction that will get removed after 3 years. I have since reported the reduced speed limit change via the MapShare Reporter online link for Tom Tom so hopefully this gets updated soon. Is this the most efficient way to get speed limits manually updated?
The Fixed Charge Notice I received alleged I was doing 97Km/h on that road but of course at the time, I thought I was within the speed limit and ultimately I never had a chance. When I reflect at how costly this has been...I ask myself if it is acceptable or good enough that something like this can happen especially because this was a fairly pricey model (TomTom Go Superior 7) I purchased back in July 2024 which cost me €359.
Has anyone a similar experience? Any thoughts?
