Multi point optimum routing.

I have the need to do some pre-trip planning. I know locations I want to visit on a given trip, what I need to know is the most optimum order in which to visit them.

i would like to be able to simply put in a list and have the device re-order them. Is there a TomTom that can do this? If not, how about a PC software product? Thanks in advance for any help.....

Tomtom's don't have the ability.

This is called the 'Travelling Salesman Problem' and it is extremely expensive (computationally) to calculate. It is one of the classic of mathematics. Read more about it on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelling_salesman_problem

Needless to say, your Tomtom cannot do this type of calculation, it just does not have the processing power (and you don't have the time to let it try). There is software that can do this on a PC, providing the number of sites is small enough (or you have a lot of time to spare).
