Hi.
I'm stopping in Menton, France, about 6 miles East of Monaco Mid April. Is there a downloadable route of the F1 circuit (or as much as can be ridden on a motorbike) I can download onto my Tomtom Rider 550 anywhere?
TIA

Mike

Shouldnt be difficult to navigate around whilst you are there, since most of the route is nearly stationery with traffic and you will recognise it all.
One point to note is that you will not go around casino square as expected since it is effectively a parking area, so you'll pass nearer to the casino. The second pic is from a lot of years ago, when I did inadvertently go round (what was then) a roundabout the wrong way ! Note, it gets extremely confusing after the tunnel

I have drive the F1 route in Monte Carlo many times, but not following any particular order.
When I drove around the Casino Square last year, after coming up the hill from the swimming pool direction, I ended up driving over the pedestrian area due to work being carried out. Hopefully it will all be finished this year.

Give the attached *.gpx file a try. It's in 'track' format, so your 550 should be able to handle it. I called it a *.txt file here to upload it (this site won't allow *.gpx attachments), but just rename it to Monaco GP Circuit.gpx. Here's how it looks:

Canderson,

What would be the best way to install the route on my Go Superior

Thanks

Canderson,

What would be the best way to install the route on my Go Superior

Thanks
Unlike the uSD card game you can plan with the 550, there's never been a mechanism for directly installing any flavor of *.gpx file on a Superior.

Instead, you can send the route using plan.tomtom.com.

Use the 'hamburger' in the upper left to select "My Items".
Click on "Routes".
Then you'll see the option to "Import GPX file".
Go ahead and use the file that I supplied already, above. Just rename to .gpx.
Once you have that route uploaded, select it, and you'll see a toggle for "Sync this route as a track with my devices".

It should be sent to your Superior when logged into the same account.

I have just tried it, and nothing happened

iT'S BROKE.

Can you be a bit more specific? Where did the process fail?
Did all go normally, but you can't see a route on your device, or ???
I assume you are logged in the same way both on the TomTom site and your device (username/password)?

I'll be traveling all day tomorrow, so hoping someone else will jump in to respond.

I have just tried it again with no luck, I wonder if I am doing it incorrectly.

1. I first downloaded the .txt file that canderson put on the Forum.
2. I then changed the extension .txt to .gpx.
3. I then opened up Plan.TomTom.com on my laptop.
4. I clicked on my Items and then on routes.
5. I then clicked import gpx file, and selected the downloaded file on my laptop.
6. Nothing happened

Odd, the file works for me.

Just in case, are you logged into your GPS and your TomTom map account with the same credentials?

I have just tried creating a route on my Laptop using Plan.TomTom.Com and then sharing it to my devices. The route showed up on my Superior, my IPhone App and also on my IPad App, so it looks like everything is syncing ok. So perhaps I am doing something wrong with the way I download the file which uses the .txt extension. It also shows on Plan just below the import GPX file, Use this space to save all routes you love and want to save for later. But nothing will save there.

Um .. note ... I was quite specific that I was uploading here with a *.txt extension ONLY because this site won't allow upload of a *.gpx file. The filename MUST be changed back to a *.gpx before uploading it to the TomTom planner site. Be sure to do so!

I downloaded your file again, changed it to .gpx but it still wouldn’t work.
I also created another route in another app which was in a .gpx format. That didn’t work either, when I tried to upload it using Plan.TomTom on both my Laptop and IPad.

When I uploaded both files to another app, they both worked without any problem.
I can only assume that the Plan. TomTom doesn’t work in the UK format.
Or am I wrong?

I have no idea what "the UK format" is.

Let's start here.
If you follow the instructions above, using *.gpx as the file extension, do you see the mapped route in the planner itself?

This is the file I used is
Monaco GP Circuit.gpx and it didn’t open in Plan when I tried it, so I saw nothing. It did open in other apps as I mentioned above.

By UK format I meant that the version of Plan that I am using, is slightly different from the version that people in other countries are using.

I also wonder if there is anyone that is in the UK and on this Forum who could try it for me please. Just so I can remove the human element ME.

Hi Niall,
I have just tried the link you sent, it goes to the Monaco area on the map, but it doesn’t show the blue route as shown on your map. I think I will have to contact TomTom for an explanation, that’s if I get one.
