I just purchased a VIA 1535. The directions state it will hold up to a 32 g card. When placed in the slot behind the adapter, the program will not read the memory, the site and does not ask for it to be formatted. I cannot update without storage. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. SNBO1526D00406.

Some brands are more problematic than others. That said, 32gb is overkill in my opinion. A 16 gb SanDisk is a good choice.

However, take the card out and format it in a card reader as FAT32. Then reinsert into the device and see if the device offers to format it now.

If not, with the card in the device, try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds. Does the device 'see' the card and offer to format now? If not, time to try another microsdhc card.
