Masonic Lodges

if it helps, they can usually be found in the phone book under "fraternal organizations," specifically with F &A.M. in their names. I would do it myself but have no idea how.

Thanks in advance.

Tennessee Blue Lodges

I have a solution to this; but I cannot have links or attachments until my post count is > 0?!?!? So, I am posting this with the hopes of sending the content in a subsequent post.

Tennessee Blue Lodges

I know your post was a while ago; but no one ever really offered you a file. I don't have the whole Southeast; but I created one for Tennessee. You are welcome to it. The addresses were gleaned from the Grand Lodge of Tennessee site (http://www.grandlodge-tn.org/?chapters=Y&page=BL).

I have attached a zip file with the OV2 file, as well as the CSV file, Masonic emblem image, and the instructions I used to create it (so you can create your own or add to it).

Hope you or anyone else gets some use from it.

The instructions (won't let me link attachment with post count of 0. Will try to attach later):

How To Create The Lodge Poi File:
********************************************************************************
1) Go to blue lodge site (http://www.grandlodge-tn.org/?chapters=Y&page=BL)

2) Right-click on page and select "View Page Source"

3) Copy the page source and paste into http://dirtymarkup.com/

4) Click "Clean"

5) Copy cleaned HTML into editor.

6) Grep the lodge addresses from the "q=" value in the google links. Be sure to replace all %20 with a space.

7) Go to http://www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com/batch-geocode/#.UG-IurXcOCk

8) Paste the addresses into the "Input" field

9) Click the "geocode" button

10) Once finished, copy/paste the output into a csv file.

11) Open CSV file and reverse columns. I.e., make sure order is longitude, latitude, and description (i.e., the address)

12) Must remove the commas from the description, if any.

12) [Optional] Modify the description to include the lodge's name/number and district number.

E.g., "Old Hickory Lodge #598 District #8 1202 HADLEY AVE Old Hickory TN"

13) Go to http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/poi_manager.php and enter the path to the CSV file created above.

14) Enter a name for the POI file.

E.g., "Tennessee_Masonic_Lodges"

15) Follow instructions at http://us.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13903/kw/add poi
