I will be traveling to Italy in October.
Amazon has Euro maps on DVD and on SD card.
Is there a difference?

If they are the same, then they are charging you a ripoff price of $150 dollars extra for an SD card! And they state nowhere what the version number is. I would stay away.

Have you tried using the Home program to purchase maps? I think you have to have v2.1 installed. They offer the Italy map for 40 Euros and the Europe map for 50 Euros. Provide your own SD card. This is VASTLY cheaper!

(Make sure you uncheck the box "Show only recommended items" on the map page. Otherwise it won't display the European maps.)

I agree, those items are way over priced compared to what the TomTom site is selling for.

I would purchase them through TomTom as they are doing a promotion till January 2008 where maps are 50% off.
