Map will not upload without TomTom ejecting (mac osx)

Using my mac book pro I paid for and downloaded new maps for my TomTom One IQ and whilst trying to install the new maps the device seems to disconnect and the warning screen pops up saying the install could not complete as the device was disconnected by the user (which I did not)

I've read a few others have the same problem but have found no solution.

Please help.

Use Stuffit for the Mac where you see reference to WinRar.

Unfortunately that does not work.
