Map Updates

Good evening
I have bought a TomTom Expert Plus. When setting it up I get as far as updating the maps and part way through I get a message saying that it cannot update the maps and to delete them and try again. How do I get past this please?

Hi.
Are you updating from your GPS menu?
Your GPS should not be connected to the computer.

Yes, I’ve even reset the unit and started again but only get to same stage

Is your GPS receiving satellite signals? The icon indicating your position should be blue.
