Map download help please

Hi,

Am desparetly looking for help please !!

We have purchased a usa map from tom tom and it has been downloaded onto an sd card as there wasn't enough memory on the device, which is a tom tom one xl.

It's on the card for sure we have checked, but whenever we put it into our sat nav all we get is a picture of the card being removed from the slot and covered in a red cross !!

Contacted tom tom who were very helpful but not sure they understood the question !

I,m hoping someone on here can help but please bear in mind I,m not the most technically minded

Try this.......

Connect your unit to the computer. Make an Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents. If not sure how, see here:

Now then, when you say you see the map on the card, is it in compressed format? In other words, does it say something like USA.zip or USA.cab ??

If so, then once you are SURE you made the Explorer backup and it's safely on the computer, then delete the current specific map folder from the unit (it'll prbably say something like UK_and_ROI. Use Explorer to delete the folder.
