TomTom Model(s)
go 6000
Hi all!

I have a tomtom go 6000 with a user linked that I don't know. I was using a lot of time this gps creating a lot of useful pois. Now I have purchased a new Go Camper Tour GPS and I want to import my pois.

I think that if I had the same user in both gps the transfer would be automatically but as I don't have the same user I need to export it manually.

I have seen the manual from this forum but the option manage community content is missing in my computer (I have tried in windows and mac with both gps).

Can I enable this option to export the pois? Is there any other option to export the pois manually?

Regards!

Hi

On Go Camper Tour the option to add personal poi is not available and it is not possible to activate it.

Do you know if is possible in go 6000? I can access to http://169.254.255.1/personal/pois/ but it's empty.
If I understand you correctly...

Yes, using TomTom's MyDrive web site (mydrive.tomtom.com) you can move custom POI files (*.ov2) to a GO 6000 or any other GO 6xxx series devices.

It's just the most recent models that do not support the custom POI feature -- and like many, I'm not very happy about that!

My first problem is exporting the pois, I want to export from my go 6000 the pois that I have inside but I don't know how as "manage community content" is disabled and /personal/pois it's empty.

I don't know later if is possible to import in Go Camper Tour but in mydrive.tomtom.com I have the option to import ov2 files.

Unfortunately, http://169.254.255.1/personal/pois/ no longer shows custom POIs that are loaded on the device.

I am hoping that you used the TomTom MyDrive web site to load them to your old device.
If you did, then they are still available there to load to another device. You just need to log in with the new device with the same address and password as for the old device.

If you had them on a PC at some time in the past, and used the Community Content method with MyDrive Connect, you should still have those POI files on your PC, yes?

That's the problem. I don't have the old user (I losted the password) so I can not log in with that user. I think that I will have to add the pois manually... :(

There are a number of map based tools that can create groups of locations as *.gpx files, and those can be converted to TomTom POI (*.ov2) files. It's not possible to create POI lists on these devices since the previous generations.

On GO 6000 it is possible to add personal poi with Mydrive
however, it is not possible to import poi from your GO 6000 to the GO Camper Tour.
