:confused:Hi everyone

I have a TT 630 that has been pretty good for accuracy up to this point. I am useing app. 8.351 and map version 845.2645.
I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and as in every city or town there is a street called Main Street. My Main Street runs for miles cutting through downtown and eventually turning into a highway and way out in the highway area the TT 630 also lists Winnipeg (West St. Paul) an area outside Winnipegs Main Street route.
I entered an address of 1005 Main Street (Winnipeg) and the TT came out and said no addresses over 799.
That is impossible because local numbers along Main Street (Winnipeg) go into the 2500+ range before the area becomes West St. Paul.
I then repeated the 1005 Main Street under the West St. Paul district and the 1005 number was recognised.
There is NO WAY 1005 Main Street is in West St. Paul district. Is there any way to correct this problem?
THANKS

And then hope the change you are reporting gets implemented in a future map. The change will not show up on your map.

:eek: My origional post was supposed to have the heading "Main Street in my location TOTALLY INACCURATE" Due to a typo error I screwed up. Fortunately dhn gave me the answer. Thanks! I have to use spellcheck from now on.

 Hi dhn, sorry to be a pain in the a** but you responded to my post with the following answer-

Mapshare corrections-->Report Other error-->City-->Wrong city.

I followed the above instructions but I is it possible for you to give to a more in depth answer on how to report the screw up in the Main Street and Main Street (West St. Paul) district addresses. I get as far as Wrong city but I don't where and how to go from there. I tried many times but I get lost somewhere along the way.
Thanks and sorry for repeating myself.

My 840 map lists 698 as the highest number.

Except, that is not 1005 Main in West Saint Paul it is the actual Winnipeg location at Manitoba Ave.

If you use Google maps (Tele Atlas)
1005 Main St, Winnipeg, MB shows exactly as the West Saint Paul entry on TomTom, in Winnipeg.
1005 Main St, West Saint Paul, MB shows a location where the Hydro transmission lines cross, about 2 km north of the Perimeter Highway (101).

Note:
I wanted to add 10.1 km north, as well as, the text of my previous post that Tele Atlas in Google maps gets it correctly but, it appears that there is a limited space allowed for typing (had to redo that twice until catching on).

When I choose 1005 in Winnipeg on Main Street it states 799 is the highest number. When I choose 1005 in Main Street (West St. Paul)) it takes me to 1005 Main Street here in Winnipeg which located at Main Street and Pritchard Street (next to Manitoba Avenue) and it happens to be a Liquor Store.
I work for the Federal Government and at work we have a huge new map about 4ft. x 4ft. and as you say West St. Paul Municipality doesn't show up until after the north perimeter of the city. Around that area, Main Street turns into HWY 9.
I find it weird because there is a lot more of Main Street from say 1005 all the way to the Perimeter Hwy and after the Perimeter Hwy then West St. Paul is shown. When you highlight Main Street in Winnipeg it should accept all the addresses up to where West St. Paul Municipality really exists, but it doesn't.My TT GO 630 (app. 8.35 map 845) only shows addresses on Main Street up to 799 and after that I have to use the Main Street (West St. Paul) selection. Something is definately wrong because living in Winnipeg I know exactly where West St. Paul is and it's definately not part of the area of the Main Street that runs for miles from the north Perimeter Hwy through downtown and miles to the south where it eventually forks off to different streets.
West St. Paul is basically off the Hwy past the North Perimeter and there's not much out there. This is what my unit is doing. Why Main Street (West St. Paul) has anything to do with Winnipeg addresses I have no idea, somebody screwed up in the mapping.
By the way, where did you get the pictures of the TomTom screen?
I appreciate all the effort you put into your response. Any more info is greatly appreciated!!!!

Check out my response above. Is it possible to fix the problem from here or are you limited to sending in report as shown on your diagrams?
I looked for Google Maps (Tele Atlas) , do you have the link that you use so I can click on it?

Thanks

Maybe it your higher number than mine is that you use the 845 map and I the 840.

What you see in my post above is not only an instruction for you how to do it but I actually sent it off to TomTom via HOME.
By the way, where did you get the pictures of the TomTom screen?
There are two ways to do it but to put them in a post they must be on your computer to be uploaded.

The easy way, and that is what I used this time, is to make Screen Prints of the different windows as displayed in HOME. I just reduced them in size as there is no detail lost and they take up less space.

The other way is to make Screen Dumps from the actual screen of your TomTom.
To do that you must first, in Windows Explorer, click on your device (typically one of the higher letters like H:\. I:\, etc.) and make a new folder to be called screen. Open Windows Notepad and, without typing anything, save it with the name capture in that folder.
Now, any time you tap the top left corner of your screen a BMP picture of that screen, as is, is saved in thescreen folder.

It is best to convert any picture to be attached to a JPG as the forum software allows that to be larger than any other format.

To attach a picture to a post, click on Manage Attachments (in the block above the [Submit] button).
Click on Browse, locate your picture on your computer, double click on it and then click the button Upload.
Do that with all you want to upload and click close Window.

Go to your composition window, put your cursor on the spot where you want to insert the picture, click on the drop down arrow next to the paper clip icon above and click on the name of the picture and it will show some thing like [ATT]2743[ATT].

Now click [Preview Post] and if you are satisfied click [Submit Reply].
If you want to make changes, click your browser's back button and then make your changes.
If it is only a typo that need correcting, you don't have to go back; you can make the changes in the composition window below the preview and just Submit Reply].

Only TomTom/Tele Atlas can fix that problem. The report I sent (last of the pictures) goes to them the next time you Update my GO.
I would highly recommend that you make a report, the way you have written about the problem in the first place, via eMail directly to (e-mail address removed) .

Google maps is at Google Maps.
If you enter 1005 Main St, Winnipeg, MB and after that maps shows up click on directions and enter 1005 Main St, West Saint Paul, MB it will show the route with a distance of 10.1 km.
