TomTom Model(s)
Go Superior 7''
Hello to everyone, got a tomtom superior 7'' and after done all the setting to avoid the low emission zone to avoid it, well after planned a route ( that I know very well on how to avoid it to get to work) it takes me just into the low emission zone. On my device got all the services active, speed cameras, traffic and premium services but I tried and tried and it still make a route that goes in low emission zone. I have to done it for real yet, will do tomorrow, meaning I done it with the device as play route prewiew and where I should take the next exit on the roundabout it takes me on bedfont road and there is where the low emission zone start. Anyone can help me on this matter please? Thank you. Filippo

One thing that was noted by another user ...

If the route was planned before the device had a GPS lock (blue chevron vs. gray), it would sometimes not make note of LEZ during planning. After a solid GPS fix would occur, the LEZ did was not always being seen and displayed.

Waiting for a lock before route planning seemed to often change that behavior. Worth looking at, anyway.

Hi... thank you... I try tomorrow and will let you know the outcome, thanks again.

Hi @Filippo

You know this area, the question to ask yourself is: has TomTom correctly identified this area as a low-emission zone?

In Settings, you should be able to enable it to see if the area is indeed on the GPS map.

Hi Willy, well I had look at low emissions zone and tomtom got it wrong on this zone starting from the airport southern perimeter road , Stanwell Road and clockhouse roundabout and clockhouse lane Bedfont Road and Chertsey Road but even if the zone is done wrong I still get into it even before because coming out from Long Lane to the A30 it wrongly shows the zone starting from there so it should avoid from making this route and direct me on the other direction of the A30. So what do you think?! Thank you.

If you have enabled the Avoid Low Emission Zones option.
Low emission zones are excluded when planning your route.

Have you agreed to share information with TomTom?

Sorry but I am confused now, you're saying that if I plan a route the low emissions zone are excluded? So how do actually work this Avoid the Zone? I got my work place as my place like home and others places saved and what I do is just tap on go to work but it doesn't avoid the zone. And yes I do share information and all, I knew it.

Can you plan a route to your workplace without saving it?
I'll try later and let you know it, I will delete both home and work and see the outcome, well later I try with going home and tomorrow morning going to work

Hi, I tried like you said, waited gps signal and drove off for half mile and stopped and done the route and nothing it took me againg into the LEZ, I noticed that the LEZ zone tomtom got is wrong on the map, I know perfect the zone and even on TFL, saying it because with the wrong LEZ zone on tomtom map it should make a route for me even earlier than clockhouse lane.

Hi, I tried and nothing it still is not working, I deleted the home place and after it was not shown on my place I done I search for destination, home, with full address and it still not avoiding the LEZ.

Hi,
Do you have other LEZs in your city?

Plan another route to another LEZ to test.

Hi, I have been trying a few different routes and nothing it does not works, got warnings on for LEZ as well and nothing, everything checked so many times and changed settings and still not working, as I said tomtom got the boundaries of the LED wrong but even so it should work once you enter them, well avoiding them when is possible and I do it myself with just a very little diversion to get to work without driving into LEZ. Another thing is actually getting now with my tomtom superior it get stuck after the last update, I read on the internet other people get the same issue, after the update, when you tap on the menu where you see wireless bluetooth the cloud and the 2 cars it stop responding and got to soft reset it, I have even done a restore with the computer but it happened again, this last time after the restore I wont do the update to see if it does or not. Wating an answer for the LEZ map wrong and even for this matter to avoid the LEZ from tomtom. I had never problems before with my go 6200. Thank you.

My reply:

Hi Sufiyan, thank you for answering back and following this matter and take this problems to who can sort them out. Yeah I got that about the bluetooth problem myself and using only the hotspot (wifi) of my iPhone, it still get the device stuck but a lot less, even I message was coming up last weekend about some problem with the phone bluetooth connectivity.
I hope they can sort out as well the Maps about the Avoid the Low Emission Zone to make it working and even sort out the Boundaries, as I said they got it wrong. Thanks again and have a nice week ahead. Regards, Filippo Siscaro.

Well let wait and see.

I also have a Superior 7” and the only reason I bought it, was because of its ability to avoid the Clean Air Zones.
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately I don’t live near any Zones, the nearest one I believe is Bristol.
So Filippo I am watching your posts with a lot of interest, and I hope for your benefit and for others with the same unit the problem gets sorted.
The Superior is advertised as being able to avoid the Zones, so unless they can get it sorted, then they are selling something which is Not Fit for Purpose.
If so then perhaps we get our Money Back?

Hi Valvejockey, yeah that is why I did buy it too, I have been talking with tomtom customer support since the 16/10/2025 up today and they know about the problem and been told they are trying to sort it out and actually told they will sort it out but that is not the only problem the Superior 7 got and I believe others models too, yes the LEZ/ULEZ ( tomtom says it the same for them LEZ OR ULEZ ) the boundary are wrong, I know very well the ULEZ where I live and they got it wrong, told them and send some screenshots from the TFL maps, so don't just the AVOID thing is not working but the boundary is wrong, another and very bad problem is the connectivity that get the device stuck and not responding and you got to soft reset so often to get going, told them and they know it as well and the are going to sort it out, I tried 2 GO Superior and both with the same problem, I did think the first one was a faulty one, let's hope they will do an update that will stops these problems and just now 07/11/2025 at 00:24 hours there was an update from tomtom that it says is reuqired and so I done, I will try and see if the connectivity problem is sorted. Thank you.

Regards, Filippo

Hi Filippo,
Thanks for the quick reply, as I mentioned earlier, where I live in Wales there are as far as I know no Zones.
However I was in Runnymeade on Thames a few months ago, when the Superior warned me that I was entering a restricted Zone.
I expected a fine coming through the door for entering a ULEZ, but thankfully nothing happened.
I will update my Superior later tonight, but unlike you I am unable to test it unless I drive 70 miles to Bristol.
So Please keep us informed of your experience's, and of any correspondence with TomTom as it will not only help me, but Many Many others with the same problem.
Once again, Thank you.

Hi Filipino,
This week I updated the software etc, on my Go Superior.
I then set a route to the centre of Bristol which is in the Clean Air Zone, a warning flashed up on the screen saying No route possible that avoids these: Low Emission Zones:

As I don’t live near to Bristol, I am unable to test it in practice.
When I zoomed in on the map it did show the Zone area on it.

Hi Valvejockey,

Lucky you, got the update too but the problems to be connected to the internet by Wi-Fi or Bluetooth still the same, works once and the next time you use the device it not just won't connect but even get the device stuck, about the LEZ not a single time I had a warning at all, it takes you inside the LEZ, TomTom map still have the boundary wrong, well at least here where I live, around Heathrow Airport. I got the first Go Superior 7 from CEX second hand, it was activated just last 07 July 2025 so nearly new, I did think it maybe is a faulty one so I said OK let's get a new one and so I did buy a new one but to only discovery it had the same problems like the one from CEX, then the faulty must be the software hopefully. I am passing all the info to TomTom support and photos when the device gets stuck and let's hope they will get the solution soon. Thank you.

Regards, Filippo
