hello everyone,

For a while now I have not received any traffic on my TT 6200 because they do not use a 2G network here in Belgium, ditto in neighboring countries.

Now I have searched here on the forum and understand that this can be solved via your own GSM?!
So I have done all this, activated Hotspot on phone, let TT log in to hotspot and connection works because the TT displays on the screen that it is connected to the hotspot.

In the menu bar I see that my TT is connected to my account and Wi-Fi.

Bluetooth is not connected because this is of no use for traffic updates if I understand correctly?

Traffic is also not connected, always shows "Service not available"? with the explanation "there are problems with access to TomTom services. Please try again later…

So I don't get any traffic info/update on my TT 6200

So completely lost here, what am I doing wrong or what am I missing?
Settings GSM, VPN or other?

The clock that was no longer running correctly (5 minutes) is now running correctly again, probably because the TT had a completely empty battery after the last use…
Sending route planning to my TT also still works…
So what's going wrong…?

Thanks in advance and greetings
GG.

You need not concern yourself with GSM settings or VPN settings. They're not part of this exercise. For many of us, we don't bother with Bluetooth, either. It just tends to confuse things.

Also, the old MyDrive app for the phone is obsolete, so you won't want to spend time working with that, either.

Instead:

Set your phone up as a WiFi hot spot.
Log into your phone's WiFi with your 6200.
Then you can
  • Enjoy traffic.
  • Use your 6200 to log into TomTom's server (TomTom Account) to get routes, etc., planned at plan.tomtom.com.

Thanks for your answer canderson, but as I mentioned I have already done all this!

But I don't get any traffic updates, road works, traffic jams etc... this way
The TT Go 6200 now works like my very old TT910
So when I enter the TT drive from A to B it is without any info and the route looks completely different via the TT route planner or MyDrive (this app still works on the iPad)

So what's wrong...

Kind regards,

Question: Have you agreed to send information to TomTom?

Settings.
Select System.
Select Your Information & Privacy.
Select the switch to enable sending information.

If the route you send from Plan-TomTom doesn't match, check that the email address on your GPS device is the same as the one on Plan-TomTom (MyDrive).

Fully agreed with all... Was set up that way from the beginning

The email address is the same for the device as for MyDrive, Plan Tomtom or my account...

Willy875 and canderson,

Thank you for your help! The problem is solved after a reset...

So after the 2g dropout something apparently went wrong with that or an update?
It didn't bother me until I got into traffic jams and road works a few times...

Problem is now solved, I can see the red/yellow lines again... lol.
Regards,
GG

It's true that sometimes a factory reset resolves many issues.

It could also be that the email address was incorrect; a reset allowed you to re-enter the correct email address.

Nevertheless it works now and thanks for thinking along and helping.

A question now arises because I have no experience with the GSM hotspot:
Does the TT Go 6200 device automatically switch from the home WiFi address to the GSM hotspot and vice versa?

Thanks,
GG
