Is a phone really the only way? I rely so much on my tomtom for live traffic updates. My city is so busy, that tomtom sends.me a different route to work each day cause it knows where the problems are. Well, it used to! Not anymore.

I rush into the car with two under twos as well, I don't have time for faffing about with phones, and what if it loses connection during the journey? Can I still use Bluetooth for playing music through my phone in the car alongside the TomTom? Or can I only use Bluetooth for one thing at a time?

They quit using carrier pigeons for this some years back, so you'll have to have something that can send data back and forth to TomTom, preferably more quickly as well.

Other than a phone, the alternative is a gadget like this that can manage the cellular connection and provide it to your device over a WiFi connection:
