Live Fuel Prices Inconsistent

I took my new Go Superior for a test run this morning via a route I had planned on the plan.tomtom.com website. Everything synced to my device and I thought the process was very easy. I have 2 years free trial of the premium services so I was looking forward to seeing the live fuel prices while driving. While enroute I passed three fuel stations but only one out of the two had the correct price displaying on the Sat Nav. Two had the price as £1.74 instead of the correct prices being £1.48 and £1.49. Passing the last fuel station, the price was £1.47 which was correct.
On arriving home, I investigated further. With no route selected on the sat nav, I viewed the map on the screen. When I zoomed in to the fuel stations I had passed, the fuel prices were displaying the correct prices. when I clicked on the 3 dots for further info, the price was £1.74 for Diesel Plus. So it seems they are correct while not following a route and some are incorrect when displayed following a route and where it is incorrect, it is displaying the price for Diesel Plus.
My sat nav settings were set for Car and normal diesel (Uk).
After my free subscription, if this issue can’t be rectified, I won’t be extending with a paid subscription. I’ve not seen anybody on YT doing a review mention it.

It's possible the fuel station manager hasn't updated their prices on the official website.
Check the official UK website.

"Official" website? What would that be? There are many 'private' websites for fuel prices in the UK, though.

RAC (not crowdsourced)
checkfuelprices (not crowdsourced)
petrolprices (crowdsourced)
fuelpricedata (not crowdsourced)
pickapump (crowdsourced)
pumpwatch (???)

etc

The link I added was just an example.
For the UK, after searching online, surely there must be an official website?

If that’s the case I certainly wouldn’t be depending on the Live Fuel Prices service then. I think what you are saying could be correct because the two petrol stations in question are owned by the same owner even though they are about 3 miles apart but I can’t understand why the prices are displaying correct when just viewing the map with no route active - I thought they would be the same for both scenarios. Is it possible the TomTom software is displaying the wrong diesel type, after clicking on the info button, the price shown was for diesel plus.

Not every country has a government provided gas price site, Willy.
And as the OP notes, if one needed to do that, why depend upon the TT feature?

@gazzab6
Getting the right fuel grade tied to the right price can be tricky. This is especially true because it seems every country has their own grades and names for them, making it difficult to code in the TomTom and for those updating prices to keep correct.

Do you have the live fuel prices enabled on your sat nav and if so, how have you found it?

The first thing to do is connect your GO to your phone and accept the data sharing with TomTom.

Then select your fuel type in Settings, Vehicle Info.

In any case, if there are errors in price transmission or if TomTom doesn't correct prices in real time, the error will always be there.

Same question for you Willy, do you have the live fuel prices enabled on your sat nav and if so how do you find it?
Here in the U.S. we find the fuel prices generally very good because it seems TomTom relies upon a service called gasbuddy.com for the pricing information. This is a commercial company that depends upon crowd sourced data for most of its information. Think of it as Waze for fuel prices.

Yeah, we have the same service here, canderson. Mind you, all stations in a regional area tend to have the same price to the same tenth of a litre.

Price fixing? What price fixing?

Yes I have done both of your suggestions. I’m now convinced the pricing is correct, but it’s showing the wrong type of diesel, ie., it is displaying Diesel Plus instead of normal Diesel. As I stated in my original post, the prices in normal map mode with no route active, the prices are correct, it’s only when a route is active the sat nav is displaying the wrong type of diesel.

I think TomTom doesn't differentiate between regular diesel and Diesel Plus.

So the price TomTom mentions is for regular diesel.

I understand that Diesel Plus is an additive that has been added and is sold at a higher price than regular diesel.

To be precise, I don't know if Diesel Plus is better than regular diesel.

Diesel Plus (or 'Premium Diesel') is the same base fuel as regular diesel, but with includes additives like detergents, cetane improvers, and lubricity enhancers. These additives supposedly improve combustion efficiency, keep the engine cleaner, and extend engine life, though I don't know if the difference in price is really worth it. Not a diesel owner here.

On the two fuel stations where the price was incorrect, if I touched the live price for that fuel station or the three dots for more info., the price displayed had the label Diesel Plus next to it.
