Yep. Thanks.

There is no phone to contact TomTom anymore. I don't know how you managed to get someone on the phone?I have been through chat and they are refusing to reinstate my traffic service, saying lifetime doesn't mean what I think it does.
If anyone has got them to budge, what did you do, please?
TIA

I also on chat, not phone. There is no phone to contact TomTom anymore. I don't know how you managed to get someone on the phone?

It's a Go500. It doesn't have a sim, I connect it to my phone. It says the service is about to expire. What GPS model do you have?
It's your SIM card that has been disabled for traffic. Connect your phone to your GPS

Yes Q. That's my point in a nutshell.Strange GO 500 with serial number starting with Q? TomTom Traffic is provided for life, but speed camera updates are chargeable.

So I reported this to Citizens Advice who are reporting it to Trading Standards. CAB suggested I make a formal complaint to TomTom so I am trying to do that. So far I can't get past the bot.Yes Q. That's my point in a nutshell.![]()

In my opinion you have not reached the right person to open a new ticket to Tomtom support. So I reported this to Citizens Advice who are reporting it to Trading Standards. CAB suggested I make a formal complaint to TomTom so I am trying to do that. So far I can't get past the bot.

There is a customer service, okay, they don't spend their time on the phone anymore.Tomtom don't have any customer service, it's absolutely disgusting

I started during office hours but the bot wouldn't recognise "complaint".In my opinion you have not reached the right person to open a new ticket to Tomtom support.
Or to have a live agent you have to do it during office hours.
I have a go 6000 and lost traffic and maps, expired, i can confirm that if you contact a live chat ( human), they will reactivate it for you, you will need to give them your devices serial number. However it was a mission getting to that chat. The traffic updates on my GO 6000 became inactive although the device has lifetime map and traffic updates. I tried to change the privacy setting without success and then raised a support request with TomTom who resolved the issue and it is now back working.

Thanks this just worked for me after a week on unhelpful reponses from TomTom customer support. Much appreciated Paul!My 6200 recently logged itself out & lost traffic information. Logging back in did not fix the traffic issue.
In the 'Privacy' section (*), I moved the 2 privacy sharing sliders left (turn off) & then back to the right (turn on).
(I did not turn off the 'Save routes' slider)
All fixed.
Hope this helps anyone with the same problem

On the 6200 I did not see an information sharing slider in 'About'

I had the same problem. I have a GO 5100 with lifetime traffic, but it said that the service expired on 2 Jun 2025 before and after updating to the new 25.100 software.I have a go 6000 and lost traffic and maps, expired, i can confirm that if you contact a live chat ( human), they will reactivate it for you, you will need to give them your devices serial number. However it was a mission getting to that chat.

On the GO 5200, the SIM card has been disabled to receive traffic. You connect your GO 5200 to your phone.I have exactly the same issue with a Go5200 which I bought new 6 years ago with lifetime live services. I did get a pop up message saying it had reached the end of life and TomTom were going to withdraw support and they did about a month later. But from what you are all saying, it sounds like I can have it reactivated if I complain. So I've just done that via the chat bot but with some persistence to get through the bot and onto a real person. Sadly for me though, I thought the old Go5200 device was dead so I bought a new "Go Classic" and the guy in Halfords said it would give me live traffic without a phone and it currently doesn't. It seems that although it was advertised as having live traffic, it needs an annual subscription of £25. I'm FUMING! I now have 2 devices and neither work with traffic..... So I'm hoping to reactivate my 6 year old Go5200 and I will probably keep the new Go Classic as I bought it for a van I just bought, so I now have 2 vehicles. It would be useful to have a 2nd satnav with a larger screen for a van where the windscreen is further away so it is a benefit to have a larger screen. But I'll have to pay a subscription that I wasn't expecting to need.
