With the recent update my WiFi screen is totally blank with no options available. The device won't shut down and just keeps spinning. A soft reset isn't an option now. I have had to connect to pc and do a factory reset which allows me to not install the latest update.
TOMTOM PLEASE SORT, VERY FRUSTRATING AND TIME CONSUMING
 
Press the power button until you hear the tom-tom sound and the device restarts.
Then try reinstalling a map from the GPS menu.

How did you perform a factory reset from your computer?

You're on a user forum; we have no contact with TomTom support.
 
All the maps are there,with a working GPS signal but no option for WiFi. The screen is blank and freezes when I go to the wifi options. This means I have no live traffic. I held the power button down then pressed the power button three times which took me to a diagnostic screen then connected to mydrive on the pc and it works fine now with wifi options but coming up saying software update available which I think I'll ignore for the time being. Ah didn't realise no one from tomtom would see this forum. Very frustrating no way to contact them. Can't believe the amount money spent on sat nav and they cant get this right

Have exactly the same problem...and you try getting customer service at tom tom to help.....I am on day 5 awaiting their response.
 
Have the same issue, still waiting on support to get back to me. Been a week since contacting them, issue has been ongoing since the last update.
WiFi works in the house when trying on hot-spot get that dreaded circle of doom.
Try resets three different times and still no joy. Although I did get live traffic for about three hours today then stopped, as is the circle of doom.
Wish someone from support would get back to me. Like you say, spend a lot of money and it doesn't work with no way of getting an immediate response.
Could always take my business elsewhere. Anyone got any suggestions of a decent HGV sat nav that won't piss me off 🤭

I've never had a situation where the device was picky about the source for its WiFi signal. If any of mine work in the house off the WiFi router, they work off the hotspot on my phone.

That said, dēzl might be something to consider. I don't know the + and - of their truck series vs. TomTom, only the automotive units, so you'd be on your own there. I do know it's necessary to use their specific phone app to get traffic, fuel prices, etc.
