I use the Tom Tom app for android on a tablet when travelling on the continent in my 1974 MGB.

Using Plan.TomTom on my laptop, with a big screen, and then syncing before I go works well.

However, this relies on me having the correct map on my tablet. I learnt that the hard way after exiting an over night ferry!

Now I always open the routes on the tablet before I go to check.

Today I have tried to open a new route that seems to have synced as it is on the list on the tablet. However, I got the message "No Route Possible". I am very sure I have all the relevant maps loaded. What else could be causing this problem?

Have you also downloaded the ferries?
You may be missing a map area to check.

Ferries are up to date.
I have all the maps for France loaded. The new routes that are a problem are all within France and in areas I have had routes before.

Is the any reason why full data transfer would nor occur for a route? The routes are on the list on the tablet.

There are several possible reasons for the "Route impossible" message.

A road on your route is closed.
You are trying to avoid tolls and motorways.

The map of France consists of 5 zones, while the map of the United Kingdom has 4.

Does the full coverage appear on your tablet?

Try planning your route on your tablet.

All 5 zones are present and up to date.

I had selected no tolls. There are routes I prepared previously with no tolls that are working fine.

Could it be that I used a leave at time which still in the future?

I have never created a route in advance on the tablet before. Only at the time I want to go from where I already am. When I try recreating the route directly on the tablet, the destination is coming up as "Location is not on the current map". This is strange because if I check maps are up to date the map is there.

If I click on the destination in "My Places" on the tablet it shows the location star on an otherwise blank back ground. If I zoom out from there, until I can some detail around the edge, it looks at if the France Southwest map is missing. But it is there when I check the list of maps. I am wondering if I have a space problem on the tablet. So, I deleted some maps that I don't need on the current trip plus the France Southwest map. Then I intended to re-add the France Southwest map.

I had deleted 3 French maps. When I tried to do so add a French map it only offered me 1 and it was not the one I wanted!

So I have switched it off and will try again later.

Where are you when you plan the route? If you plan a route A to B for France while you're still in the UK, the app tries to navigate you to A from the UK. Are all UK maps installed?
