Hi, I've been experiencing this issue since this afternoon. I'm trying to update, and there were two updates—one for the mobile cameras and one for the software. I believe the software update was completed, but the mobile camera update keeps getting stuck. This is the third or fourth time it has reached 50% before showing a red cross. Any ideas why this is happening, or is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

this is happening multiple times. rebooting PC and Unit does not help. It gets stuck all the time(exactly at a freaking 50 % !) at these events

Hi
You may be able to clear the cache of MyDrive Connect and then try the update again.
There may be a problem connecting to the servers, so try again later.

I'll be back 😁

*Post edit: I tried a complete new windows 11 machine which never had any TT connect software till date. so I d/l the TT software and here we go again. stuck at 50 % with the same message. I contact support , they say : my internet connection may not be good.
sounds strange, I am at work and commerical companies have good to robust Inet connections....but I may be wrong/support may be right.
tonight I go back to my pad, I have fiber optics ....so time shall tell...
but cache may not be the issue ( I just tried anew on a new machine)
servers...hmmmm....could be.
I'll be back

Sometimes, if you use MyDrive Connect on a corporate network, for example at your workplace, certain restrictions and access policies put in place by your company may prevent MyDrive Connect from connecting to the Tomtom servers.

< It could be due to certain restrictions and access policies put in place by your company>

sure.....

However:
  • I have been doing this for the last few years, so it’s not like I’m trying it for the first time here.
  • It’s bizarre that it gets stuck exactly at the 50% mark.! again & again & again &....
  • Today, there was a software update—I’ve never seen that before(at least not like this- for a long time). Usually, it's just plug points and mobile cameras, and if there’s a map update, it specifically says: map update.

So, I’m a bit puzzled about the software update today—is this interfering? Hmm...

You mentioned the cache. I tried it on a new machine, and again, it got stuck exactly at 50%. So machine cache is out of contention.
Could there be a cache on the unit I’m carrying that needs to be cleared? And what would be the consequences of doing so?
Finally, I still need to try this at home to make the case airtight.

There has been a software update to version 25.100, check on the GPS if it is correctly installed.

After the update of the cameras, it is not important, since you have them live.

On the GPS, there is no cache to empty.

Thanks !!
here's what system-->about ---> tells me

that 25.100, looks fine->

Image 2 indicates that you are no longer connected to the 2G network
Maybe 2G is disabled in your country?

25.100 yes, this is the latest version.

yeah...the country has moved to 5G , but nice to know what it actually meant! ....whew...

I just wanted to clarify something. When you say, "After the update of the cameras, it is not important, since you have them live," what do you mean exactly? The camera update isn't going well, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be important. Could you explain? 😊

status:
@ home now
I am getting this(This is the only remaining update that I need to carry out- only for the cameras.) looks like the software updt. is done because each time-after connection to the PC and logging in , it shows that that the mobile camera needs an update)

I am using a second TT unit now, and this is the software update I mentioned earlier.

In my "problem unit," I had checked both boxes and proceeded.(last friday) & got to that bizzare 50 % issue

This time around, I am going for the software update first to see what happens.

*post edit
software updt went fine, one also has to ack. the following :

It's the radar update that's causing the problem.

The radars downloaded via MyDrive Connect are installed on the map.

Normally, if your GPS is connected to your phone, you should have the radars live, so downloading the radars from Mydrive connect should not be necessary.

That's the issue - I ( & maybe many other users here ) do not rely on phone connections.
I have a dedicated 5100 & 6100 unit/s .....& for folks like us this has become a sort of an issue.
The ''last'' db of the radar is still there ( I tested it on the roads) but that means we will not be getting the very last updates as long as this persists.

I am having this exact same issue! I have a GO 6000 trucker with lifetime updates…
The software update went ok, the map update went ok, but the speed camera update fails at 50% every single time.
I’ve contacted TomTom support and have a ticket number, but they too fail to respond!

Support in short asked me to do the following :

------------snip----------------------

I'm sorry to hear the issue you are facing while installing the speed camera on your unit. I have checked and found that one of the following is the reason behind speed camera failure are:

  1. Aggressive anti-virus/firewalls.
  2. Poor Wi-Fi/ Internet connection.
  3. ISP or Router issues. This also includes business networks.

I request you to please configure the security software installed on your computer & retry the updates. Refer to the below link to update Speed Camera.

---------end snip------------------

I have shared this forum thread with support and requested confirmation. I appreciate any further guidance or clarification they can provide.

Do you have a valid radar subscription?

I suspect they will say the same to me! There’s nothing wrong with my virus software, nothing wrong with my Internet connection and my router is fine too.
It’s typical of TomTom to blame everything but themselves!
