Installing to SD card

I downloaded the MobilNova demo and it needs to install to the SD card,but as I understand it the TT920 can't write to a 8GB card,so how do I install it.I know for MP3s I put the card in the card reader and copy them over,but this isn't going to work for an install of Software?

It looks like I have enough MB on the internal to install the MediaCenter files.I'm eventually going to run out of room on the Internal though.

I am using a 4GB SDHC and works great. Both Internal and SD show up on the computer...you can select in TTHome which device you want to work with.

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone installed EventLogger on their SD cards? I was under the impression that you would be able to install and run from an SD card. If you have, could you please advise on how you did it.

It can...
Format the sd card at your go as a 4gb.( it's recognized as a 4gb card)
Then reformat the card on your pc as 8gb.
Put it on your go and it will be recognized as a 8gb card.

Unfortunately, my French is very poor but in the link you provided, there is a screenshot of TT seeing more than 4 gigs on the sd card. That is NOT the issue, however. A x20 CAN read from > 4 gigs on a card. It cannot write data beyond 4 gigs on the card.

There is indeed a correction (patch ?) from MS to go behind the 4gb.

That patch in your link is for XP systems not recognizing 8 gig sd cards. TomTom software is NOT written in Windows' language. It is linux coded and the TT units aren't writing to greater than 4 gigs on a sd card. That's a linux issue, not Windows, I think.
