TomTom Model(s)
Rider 550
Hello,
I know it sounds kinda strange, but I somehow achieved to delete the Files in the root directory of my rider 550.

Now I have no Maps and installed, I cannot do anything with the device because after a restart it’s stuck in a loading screen. Sometimes I am able to get it to the Map downloading screen, but it eventually does get stuck again.

I already tried to recover it with the TomTom Connect App on PC, but it does not create those files.

TomTom Support Hotline was not really helping.
Only thing they said I can do is to try to connect to TomTom Connect, download a map or restore the device which I told them over and over again I did, but they did not really listen to me. And of course send the device in.

I think it’s easy fixable. Maybe someone can send me the files/folders of his TomTom Rider 550.

Thank you for your help

When you try to import routes you can access to the file system (SD and internal) via usb connection
Yes, you have access to import routes, but you cannot delete the Tomtom folders that allow your GPS to work, you do not have access to them.

In my opinion, what you are missing for your GPS to work is a map.

I downloaded a map with for different navcores and imported them into the Device. with no positive results. Which one is the correct one?

I also checked the crashlog from the SD card and ChatGPT mentioned that folders are missing

I will make screenshots of everything in the evening (GMT +1)

The latest version of navcore is 24.102 and you can only get it if you log in to your Tomtom account.

Unfortunately I cannot download any maps via the Tomtomconnect app. Because I cannot register my device. Before I can log myself in on the device it gets stuck in the loading screen

Sorry for the late response, after a long session of rebooting the device it somehow managed to download a map without getting stuck. (The Loading screen also changed from a turning circle to the round one with percentage and Progress bar)
Now it is working again properly
