I have just purchased a VIA280 to replace my Via225 but the original VIA225 is still showing in MyDrive Connect and the device is showing as "Not connected". I tried opening a new account but the system has my email address as already registered. How do I update this?

You MUST come up with a different email address to register the new unit. It doesn't necessarily even have to be a 'real' one, just a unique one that you can remember. For whatever reason, TomTom has always kept track of units by email addresses rather than serial numbers, but you can bet the the system recognizes the serial numbers! If the 225 is still functional, you'll want to make up an alternate address. If it's a deader and you really want to re-use the old address, you'll have to call tech support there to have them reassign the serial number of the new unit to the old 225's address.

Thank you for that. The old unit is deceased so your suggestion of a new email account sounded easiest. I uninstalled the 225 MyDrive and re-established an old Hotmail address then reregistered with that address. Now all seems to be fine. Thank you again for the prompt advice
