I bought my Tomtom one off my friend since he bought a new GPS. How do I tell what generation it is? The bottom just says One, nothing about if it is a LE or 3rd generation, etc. How do you tell so I know what I am working with?

Look at the contents of the unit using Explorer. There is a text file called ttgo.bif in the root of the unit. Scroll down till you see the 'device' info. That's one way.

If it has no sd card slot, it's a 3rd Edition.

If it has a card slot, then it's either a v2 or an LE, which are virtually the same.
