How do you see road speed limits?

OK, the TomTom must have built in speed limits, because when I go to map corrections from the computer I can tell it that the speed limit on a street is wrong. However, how do I see what it has them listed as?

On a side note, all the roads in my neighborhood have an icon with a car and a red X on them, and the roads have purple lines through the middle. When I demo a route, it goes 4mph even though the speed limit is 25. Anyone know what this is doing?

Just FYI, apparently the X on the road means you need permission to drive on it (I'm in a gated community). Still dunno about the speed limits.
