Home Extension under Tool in Home

hi all

installed the Home 2.7.3.1894 few hours ago
while checking the Home out
came across the "Home Extension" under the Tool
clicking to see what under it
and got installed a extension in the computer
which i believe is regarding to the map share
but i uninstalled it
do i really need this extension / map share for my unit
if needed i will re-install it
(my unit was not connected to the computer and or Home during these period)

Tomtom built the extension capability so 3rd party developers could add their functionality to HOME. So far, it hasn't been used much, if at all.

I've never disabled the mapshare extension, but I suspect that it is the one that shows how many mapshare updates are in use (the green dot in the upper right of HOME). If you don't care, then no need to reinstall.
