tomtom go expert app
I'm a car delivery driver, I use sat nav many times per day in the course of my job. Thought I would give "go expert app" a try. Against the many 'free' offerings I was happy to pay a subscription for an 'app' that provided the performance I need to do my job. Unfortunately 'Go Expert' just isn't as good as the hype claims. Within the first few days I have found several speed limit notifications which are inaccurate and a couple of post codes that simply give completely wrong directions. Also, the app is often very slow to respond to destination inputs. Notwithstanding that I downloaded maps for 'offline' use the app is just slow to respond on many occasions. When this app works it is fine, but all too often it is slow to react and on several occasions just simply wrong. I'd be happy to pay for a system that works, but I can't find one.

Hi.
That's right, for the past few years the maps and speed camera locations on the GO Expert app (formerly GO Navigation) haven't been updated.

Only the TomTom app (formerly Amigo) has updated maps and speed camera locations.

@Willy875 - you are talking for the UK?
In Slovenia, we get updates for new speed cameras.

@kacnje

France.

I'm comparing the TomTom app and the GO Expert app.
Some speed cameras are flagged on the TomTom app, while there are no alerts on GO Expert.

Interesting. I didn't notice that in Slovenia.

Problem is that GoExpert uses older, often with errors (even freshly introduced by updates as it was in my area last month), NDS maps whereas in TomTom app they introduced the newest maps based on openstreetmaps. I really don't get why they are not using the their best maps in all their products but still keeping various maps flavors with errors sometimes not fixed for ages. I can bet that quality of all old versions maps will be worse and worse as I think main efforts are to develop the newest orbis maps based on openstreetmaps. I still hope that one day also GoExpert will have the newest version of maps but without the change in presentation mode

Thanks for the reply. Seems very odd that Amigo (a free product) should have more up to date map than Expert (a subscription product). I drive so many different vehicles that a stand alone device simply isn't practical, hence I use a smart phone and app.
