Yes, indeed. Have spent a fair bit of time in country over the years. Love it. Funny some of the stuff that I remember best:
I recall my first visit to the far north (e.g., Buckie, Elgin) to visit friends there, only to discover that there are actually people who pronounce English words the way that they are spelled!
Met a blind red deer that would follow you anywhere if you had a pack of Polos in your pocket... and expected a hand-out.
Roses can bloom in Buckie in early December. All that rot about weather is just to keep the tourists away.
Was my first introduction to the mix of chocolate and orange (chocolate orange balls), a flavor combo I've searched for any time I'm in a chocolate shop.
We have a really nice and wide B&W poster of the Royal Mile hanging above the bed in our bedroom.
My wife and I have been touring the states since 2001 ... covered all the 49 mainland states and had a great time. Going back out this year to visit some we'd not spent a lot of time in, so that will be CO, NE, KS and back through OK NM & TX.
