GO730 powers off auto first thing after power on

Im new with the Go730.
I power it on, after the welcome screen 10 sec long(default traffic intersection picture) I get a "shutting down your tomtom 10,9,8... sec" "Cancel yes/no"

Why is it doing this?
I upgraded to the App8.300 with newest maps 815.2019 upon reception of the unit few days ago.

PS: If I cancel the shutting down, no problem with the unit, but why am i getting this shutting down automatically. I just power it on, I obviously do not want it to power off!!!

It's a battery saving preference to shut down if external power lost.

is the battery fully charged ?....the device will shut down if the battery gets low.

Battery saving preferences have nothing to do with the charge level of the battery - they are to stretch out the charge longer.

I use the dim screen after instructions preference setting. This at times has gotten me an extra 1/2 hour (highway - not city).
