I just used the included disc mount with the foam mounting tape. I cleaned the top of the dash surface with alcohol (a little for the dash - a little for me :) ) and pressed to down good and hard. (Remember, this is "pressure sensitive" stickum and needs some firm pressure for max adhesion)

Simple but clean, effective and easy to reach. I still need to do some wire runs that are not TOO distracting for the power and audio cables, but that is pretty straightforward.

I put a few disks piled up on top of each other which gives it lots of room for the power supply cable. Yours looks really good but in my car I put 3M fassener 2 lb hold power to the bottom of the suction cup and the other side to the top of the disk. Holds really well and can be taken off easily. Strong velcro probably can also be used. Using it for about 6 months now with no problem. Now you don't have to worry about if the suction cup falls off
