Go5200
My 5200 has recently started to drop the traffic connection after 5-10 minutes, running iOS 26.2 on an iPhone 13, and all the latest updates on the Tomtom.
when I first set off I get live traffic showing up correctly, but within a couple of miles the car with an x shows up in the sidebar and it won’t connect until the next journey, I have done numerous resets of both devices and tried deleting and re adding the Bluetooth connection. I don’t know if it’s an Apple issue or if it’s tomtom as both have been recently updated.

It's possible that initially your GPS is connected to the TomTom server via your home Wi-Fi.
Once you move away from your home Wi-Fi, the GPS won't connect to your phone's Bluetooth.
The solution is to re-pair the GPS with your phone and test if that resolves the issue.

No because it does the same coming home from work, it do have any internet connection there.

Try using your iphone's WiFi hotspot instead of a Bluetooth connection and see if that is more stable.

Check with your mobile service provider if they recently did a change that involves IPv6 on their mobile network. If that is the case, then there should be an easy fix: the mobile service provider should be able to give you an alternate APN that specifically for IPv4. It's often the same APN that is used by businesses for vending machines (payment terminal, gas/water/eletric meters that are remotely monitored - these systems often use older systems that do not support IPv6 too.

I'll cut a long technical and anecdotal story short how I found out: it's a network issue between iOS and the underlying Android based OS on the TomTom devices. Bluetooth IPv6 isn't supported properly on the TomTom. And the often used workaround: the wifi hotspot... that in turn has issues with iOS switching to a hidden SSID, which causes the TomTom not reconnecting automatically.

Single SIM iPhone:
Settings -> Mobile network -> Mobile data network -> Personal Hotspot

Multi SIM iPhone:
Settings -> Mobile network -> SIM phone number -> Mobile data network -> Personal Hotspot

For me this works for my iPhone 13 mini throughout Europe.

Notes:
This often works for GSM based mobile networks (3G, 4G, 5G) - not sure if this also would apply to US networks with CDMA.
