TomTom Model(s)
Go Superior
I upgraded my Go 6200 a few months back after working for me without issues for 7 years. I was reluctant to upgrade as the new devices don't have built in sims which seems like a step backwards to me but I went ahead and now having mega regrets. Issues I'm experiencing are as follows:

1) Device doesn't soft reset as expected. Sometimes I can be holding the power button down for 2-3 minutes before I hear the drum sound but the length of time really varies
2) Device loses connection to Traffic all the time, despite my iPhone showing it is connected to the device and the device showing a connection to my iphone This can usually be fixed by doing a soft reset but not always. But basically everytime I leave the car with my phone and then get back in the car, the connection is lost. Sometimes the connection will go whilst midway through a journey.
3) When driving in average speed zones, the devices goes into a loop repeatedly saying 'average speed zone'. This is intermittent and doesn't happen all the time

I sent my 4 week old device to TomTom for repair, who advised they had replicated the issues but couldn't repair it and so they send me a replacement device which has exactly the same issues as the one I sent them. Is everyone experiencing these issues or am I very unlucky. Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

Not clear what is happening with #1, though it shouldn't be necessary very often. That it is - that's a different issue.

As for #2, are you using Bluetooth for the connection? If so, try changing to using your phone as a WiFi hotspot instead. I think you'll find that a more reliable connection, especially with an iOS device. With that, you won't be dealing with #1, either.

We don't have average speed zones here, so have not been able to observe the #3 problem.

I can‘t offer any solutions but I went from a 5200 to a Go Superior which I use with my iPhone. I have done a soft reset a couple of times and it has taken a little while, but not as long as 2-3 minutes. The connection to my phone seems stable. I often go through average speed zones and have not experienced repeated warnings. I’m not sure if this helps except to say your device(s) do seem to be acting strangely.

Eureka welcome to the average speed camera zone bug had it for well since forever reported till im blue in the face. Never fixed. Annoying as hell. Tom tom aware of it never fixed it. That and temporary speed camera zone correctly reporting they are there however tell you, you can do motorway or current speeds in them. AWARE of and NEVER fixed.

This seems to have stopped happening since I disconnected Bluetooth and just do tethering through Personal Hotspot. Weird co-incidence to be honest. I will keep monitoring and see if this remains the case.

Does your superior automatically connect to your iPhone? I seem to have to open personal hotspot every time to get them connected.

Removing the bluetooth connection seems to have helped, thank you. I still have to open personal hotspot on my phone every time I get in the car though. My superior wont just connect to it automatically which is really annoying.

I don't know if there's an equivalent tool for iOS, but Android users have access to an app called 'Tasker' that allows all kinds of 'if then' conditions to be set up.

I have a task set up on my phone such that, every time it sees my Kia Sorento's Bluetooth system, automatically creates a WiFi hotspot on the phone for use by the TomTom devices that are always present in my Kia. I'm still preaching WiFi vs. Bluetooth for most folks, especially those using iOS. Just more reliable.

The Tasker app has a bit of a learning curve, but that's largely because it's so versatile.

Also does anyone find the auto zoom function doesn't really work? When I get to junctions I don't ever see any zoom.

Do you have this zoom problem on all roads?
Seems like it yes. Seems to stay zoomed out permanently unless I zoom in manually using 2 fingers on the screen. Example attached. I'm at a junction an yet you can see my destination 0.8 miles away because its not zoomed into the junction

Today I gave up and left tom tom. Many thousands of hrs on the road using my go discover. The zoom bug as above is still there. My unit not software updated in ages. The average annoying as hell average speed camera bug bever fixed. Was fine in my 6200 fails in my ex discover.

Been a blast but two annoying as hell bugs not fixed the fact im going in a average speed camera zone daily and it constantly bongs away reminding me. I just couldn't take it anymore. Especially when it says i can do the national speed limit in a 40 average zone.

Been a blast..
