Go professional 6200
Hello, ive fitted a new battery and it switched on no problem but when left for a few days it's now flashing a red battery and won't switch on or charge tried 3 leads connected to mains but still nothing this is the second battery ive tried any suggestions thanks shaun.

You say you've tried "3 leads connected to mains", but you don't say if you've tried a different mains > 5VDC adapter. I would imagine you have, but had to ask.

If you've supplied multiple sources for charge current, and have tried two 'new' batteries, it sounds as though the internal charging circuitry of your 6200 may have packed it in. Did you get both batteries from the same source?

No tried two different suppliers it might be cheaper to buy a new one than have this repaired.

The problem might be with the GPS-side port.
Try wiggling the USB connector.

If it's the charging circuit, it's beyond worth dealing with. Even if it's the USB micro-B connector, it's a skill issue.

Finding a new 6200 Pro is likely no longer possible. Those were flushed out of distributor stock ages ago, and I'd be very surprised if retailers still had any laying around. About the last one in the U.K. to stock any was Currys, and I don't think they have any now, either. Best bet may well be eBay.

I had charging issues with one of my GO6200 about three years ago, and after swapping out the battery with a replacement from Holland, it still performed the same. I actually bought two different types of replacement battery as the supplier could not be sure which one was correct for my unit.

It turns out that the contacts were the problem - my unit has the magnetic style clamp, and the contacts didn't make all the time. Ended up using a different clip type mount and a cable plugged directly in. Works all the time now, except on excessively hot days the unit doesn't always start up - heat fatigue I guess.

Hi thanks for your reply, mine won't charge straight from the mains with a 5 volt charger plugged in to the back of it
😮‍💨

If you have tried multiple leads, and different charger packs it sounds like an internal fault which is likely beyond most people's expertise in repairing.

Have you tried a USB lead from a different source like a laptop or PC port?
