GO Premium X with Lifetime maps - second user

I'm in the UK and interested in buying a used one of these.

Would I be able to get map updates, or is the unit locked to the account of the person who buys it new?

How do you update it - plugged into a PC through MyConnect?

Lifetime maps are assigned to the serial number, not the person who purchased them.
All you need to do is create a TomTom account, then link this GPS to that account.
Then connect this GO Premium to your router's Wi-Fi.

Select Settings from the main menu, then About updates and new items to start an update.
