Go live 825 europe with slot SD

I have a go live 825 with a slot for the SD
Do you know if it's compatible with the SD's that tomtom is selling?
I need the U.S. map.

The specs on the UK site say a software update will enable the functionality of the SD slot 'Summer 2011'.

TT is often very late in deadlines regarding implementation.

The specs don't say whether it's a mini sd slot or regular. I presume it'll take a sdhc card, NOT sd card whenever it's implemented.

Guess I'm saying that you don't want to be 'hung out to dry' ordering a US map and having no external place to put it.

Agreed... The expansion slot on these models does nothing.... "yet".

The Tomtom-sold SD cards are for the larger non-"Micro" SD devices. And the maps are locked to the SD's serial number so they can't be transferred.

The Via (as far as I know, haven't seen one firsthand) has a microSD, so the Tomtom-sold SD cards would never work.
