TomTom Model(s)
GO5200
Suddenly, during a trip, our new Exclusive 7" went blank. Rebooted it, and now the screen constantly goes blank and back up with about three scond intervals.
Factory reset didn't do anything. Second problem: all connectivity is lost: WiFi, Bluetooth, even cable connection: unable to connect.
Apart from the connectivity and screen issues, the unit works normally.
I tried the Youtube video explaining the recovery mode, but following the instructions, the device started like it always does, so no recovery mode possible with this unit?
The problem persists.
What could be done more, else than contacting support and returning the unit?

How is your device connected to the car's power supply? It needs to be via the cigarette-lighter charger as these newer devices are very power hungry

Yes, through the cigarette-lighter charger. And I've charged it fully: battery is at 100% now. To no avail...

Maybe it's the cable, cigarette lighter charger, magnetic mount or cigarette lighter socket in your car that's faulty?
At home, if you plug it into a phone charger, does it turn black?

I've charged it at home using a different cable: same problem...

I think it's a battery problem?
At home, you plug it directly into the GPS's USB port.

For recovery mode, have you installed the latest software version: 24.201.0019 from 10/29/24

To install this version, you need to connect your GPS to your home Wi-Fi.

Settings in the main menu
Select the wireless network you want to connect to and connect using your network password
Tap Done, then tap Connect.

Afterwards, if you think your GPS is faulty, you should contact customer service to arrange a return for repair.

Alas, due to switching off every three seconds, I can't connect to any network. Cable connection to pc: same problem...

Update: I sent the unit in for servicing, and today I received a new unit with the message that the original unit was faulty and couldn't be repaired. Unit was within warranty so I didn't have to pay anything. New unit seems to work fine so far.
