Go camper 7" max
Hi, I'm a newbie here looking for help. I have a 7" Go Camper Max with a micro A usb socket for the cable and a magnetic mount. This is the second mount I have had and both have developed the same fault. The socket on the mount seems to be loose and at the slightest bump the cable drops out and the device goes into sleep mode. Has anyone found a better way to mount the sat nav without using the magnetic mount and just plugging the cable directly into the device.

Hi.
Normally, it shouldn't disconnect.
If you've changed the mount several times, have you tried a different cable?

A helpful tip is to slide a toothpick between the connector and the GPS.

Yes, you can also plug the connector directly into the GPS.

Thanks for your reply, yes I've tried different cables and the same thing happens. I thought there might be be a tablet holder I could use but the tomtom is too thick to fit into the clamps and as it fits flush I can't see how you could get the cable in. It's really annoying and I have seen elsewhere that other people have had the same problem, you'd think To tom could do better, as mount is not cheap to replace.

Have you considered, if the purchase is recent, making sure to use the product warranty?

Yes, the first time I had the fault the sat nav and mount were replaced under warranty which has now expired. I think it is just a faulty design which is very poor for an expensive item, especially as there doesn't seem to be an alternative mount!

This is just an idea, have you tried attaching the cable to the bracket with a tie?

No,I I hadn't thought of that thanks , I'll give it a try.
