GO 720 failing to play downloaded audio books

Hi gents,

I am trying to play audible audio books (format 3, aa files) on my GO 720. Despite its ability to play the pre-installed promotional exerpts (which are btw in the same format), my new downloads will not play - silence, after which it shuffles on and plays a promo excerpt again.

I have latest app software (as of 25th July '09).

Very frustrating - help appreciated...

In what folder did you place the audio files? In the audiobooks folder?

I am using the audible download manager, which is placing the files into the audiobooks folder on my SD card. I have also tried using the internal memory card folder, but to no avail...

I believe audio books can be in a mp3 format and a free tool called Audacity (google for it) can convert your file. May not be in a proper format after all.
