I have a Go 6000 and am rather dismayed at the fact that it holds its power for such a short amount of time after a full charge - even when switched off - a couple of days and a full charge has gone even without use. I also find that, despite the holder being wired into one of my cars USB points, it does not seem to charge the device and will often switch off due to lack of charge. I just wanted to know if this is normal, because as I have a 2 year guarantee from John Lewis and will take it back if this as a fault....... any advice would be welcome.

The usb ports on a car only put out .5A maximum, barely enough to operate the device, let alone charge the battery. You'd want an outlet like the cig lighter that can put out 1.2 A

Thanks for that, but my main issue is that the battery is losing charge so quickly. I can charge it at home to full, turn it off completely and with 48 hours if I come to use it there is hardly any charge left in the device. Its as if the only way I can use it for any decent length journey is if it was on charge immediately before I start my journey.

Then I guess you best use the guarantee on the device if it won't hold a charge.

I assume when you say "Turn it off completely", you are holding the power button down long enough to get the "Sleep" / "Turn Off" options, and you are using "Turn Off"? I ask, because a short press or using "Sleep" leaves the device in a 'suspended' mode that continues to keep alive at a low level and will eat battery over the course of a couple of days.
