give a hint about how long till next instruction

I have TT Nav6 for PDA and TT1V3, and there's one thing I'd wish it could do. When it gives audible turn by turn instructions, there's no way to anticipate when the next instruction will be without looking at the unit.

What would be nice would be an optional occassional announcement like "continue on, next instruction in 2 miles" or "keep going for next 20 minutes".

If you hit the volume controls on your device(if you have them), it will tell you. With my Palm Treo 680, the volume controls on the side of the unit will have it tell you. It won't be a distance, but it will tell you something like "left turn ahead".

If you are going a long distance, it will also give an audible warning ahead of time about what you will be doing. This may not be what you are looking for, but a quick glance at the unit will tell you how far until the next turn, which is often enough.

I would rather glance up and see than have it constantly be jibber jabbering at me with that stuff.
