Hi I am thinking of going across to France how do I set sat nav up France does not have a post code system? like us what do I need to put in

For starters, you need a map of France (stating the obvious).

You could use Google maps to find locations, right click on the marker when it shows on Google maps and transfer the lat/long values to a favourite you create on the unit (there will be an option to create a fav from lat/long values).

Also, do you need postal codes for every location you desire in France? I would doubt it.

... or just enter addresses in the format: city/town - street name - building number, just like we can do in the UK.

Yes, you can use the method as described by Andy_P, but I prefer this way.

Open this site http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html, then enter the address in the box. Select hybrid view, and identify your target destination. Note its GPS, (North and East readings). These reading are entered into the SatNav as destination.

I tour France extensively every year and this method works perfectly.
