[Fixed] Screen blanking Go Camper Max

This one has been a bit trickier since it involves the interaction of two different systems.

Keep your fingers crossed. Help may finally be on the way for GO Superior, GO Expert Plus, GO Exclusive, GO Camper Max and whatever else they might be calling devices with serials starting with B3, B4, B7 and A1, A2.
Don't know where your information is coming from, but tomtom help desk is working on it now for 2 months and they still have not found the problem. Eventually they will solve it, but they don't say which year. Sorry that I am a bit negative, that's is because of the way the helpdesk keep sending replied.
 
The Help Desk doesn't solve problems, and honestly, would not have any insight as to how well the development team is doing in running down and resolving a particular problem. They don't locate bugs and they don't write code. Their visibility is mostly limited to knowing where the problem is in the queue.
 
Er yes but what about Go Classic! Bought in good faith four months ago and not fit for purpose!
And does it's serial number happen to start with an A1 or A2?

It’s on its way to Romania for repair! In which I have little hope. Th fault is obviously software which - if there were a solution - could be fixed remotely. Think they are just going through the motions.

No. It means, as my previous posts suggests, that your device is included in a potential fix.

A some underdetermined date in the future no doubt? If it comes back from Romania unrepaired I shall demand a refund through the credit card I bought it with as being unfit for purpose.

You have 14 days after purchase to request a refund.

Requesting a refund via your credit card shouldn't be possible unless you can prove that TomTom wrongfully charged you.
 
Hello, we have the same problem with the TomTom Camper Max. And now we don't know what to do, whether we should return the device to the company. Or do you already have a solution?

Hello. My Classic Go was sent to Romania 2 weeks for repair at Tts expense. They diagnosed outdated software ( the unit is only 4 months old ! ) and are replacing it. The hopefully new unit is being shipped back now. If that has the same problem I will attempt to get it refunded through the credit card company as being unfit for purpose.

Hello. Same screen blanking problem on my Go Superior (application version 25.100.0002 - 06/02/2025). Routes uploaded from plan.tomtom.com also seem to be the issue. Point to point navigation through the device doesn't cause the problem.

Never had this sort of problem with my GO730T from 2008, and I only retired this piece of kit as it was just so outdated and didn't have traffic.

Does anyone know a manual way to upload GPX routes or ITN routes to the device without going through plan.tomtom.com?

That message, like the emails that went out a while ago saying the same thing, apply to devices BEFORE the GO 620 series. It was mistakenly sent to owners of more recent devices. If the device has WiFi capability, or you note that it is already on v25.something code, it is NOT part of that update.

When you have the problem have you sent a route from https://plan.tomtom.com/en or is it a route that you entered through the Camper Max?

I have tried both for longer trips and so far it looks as though the blanking of the screen happens when I have created a route in the online planner and synced it with the Camper Max. Simply searching on the unit hasn't had a problem.

I am going to do some more research as I have a trip to France coming up and I'd rather not have to enter one stop off at a time!

It was also much simpler when you logged a ticket on TomTom and someone tried to fix the error.

I have a Rider 410 for the bike and I use a different email and login for that. I created a new Gmail account especially for the Camper Max.
Yes , I have experience the same problem, more than once.
 
One thing that is a cause with mine, it looks like it is charging with any usb-c cable but it is ONLY functioning correctly with the original usb-c cable.
So what i meant with the earlier message is the underlaying “solution” to hard reset the device and so go back in version to 24.203.0024.
after which you get the obligated update 25.100.0002 and it will install with every (map)update.
but i will not update and see what it will do.

And where is this in the queue? It's been reported since late 2024.

My Camper Max has B4 at the start of the serial number. The software and apps are upto date. The software is 25.100.0002.
