TomTom Model(s)
Camper Max
I purchased a tomtom go camper max 2 and it looks as though it has andorid software on it. It boots up like a tablet to a hoem screen and doesnt appear to have any tomtom software.

I have tried a forced reboot and it looks like an android operating system and says the device is tomtom/belsito/belsito

Has anyone come across this before and if so, can it be reset back to being a tomom?

I have tried a hard and soft reset as per the tomtom website but to no avail, it is not recognised in tomtom mydrive

many thanks

This is not a fake Tomtom but a beta name of a project, so it was a mistake on Tomtom's part. You must contact Tomtom to exchange it for a new one.

Thank you so much, i have tried to contact tomtom but just get this automated bot that doesn't understand, is there an easy way to contact them?

Thanks

I have submitted a support ticket, and will update when I get further news

I'm curious - where did you purchase this Camper Max???
EBay so Tomtom are refusing to deal with it as it wasn’t bought from a proper shop, despite confirming it is still under warranty according to the serial number.

Always had either inbuilt or a standalone Garmin in the past.

Will not be getting another Tomtom after this, customer service is appalling and the most annoying website I have ever used, constantly nagging to rate the usefulness of their website.

TT Customer service being what it is, your real problem is still with the eBay seller. That device should have never been sold to another individual.

understand that but it has highlighted the crap customer service from tomtom

I have returned it via eBay and have bought a Garmin.

Hope you didn't buy one that came from some dodgy source. Garmin wouldn't touch a beta unit, either. In fact, they might be a bit more inquisitive about where you got it.
