End of support for Go510

I have a Go 510 and it was announced on 13/12/16 that support is to cease for this.
I only purchased this from Currys on 20/9/16.
I have Lifetime updates with this and had it for less than 3 months when TomTom made this announcement.
TomTom predict this product will be unable to update inside 6 months from now so will not be able to carry out the functions detailed at purchase.
I have started complaints procedure with Currys for possible refund so I can update my device but they will not act because this support issue is direct from TomTom and I should ask them.
Surely the retailer is responsible for solving issues?
Advice welcome-Please.

You are confusing your new GO 510 with the OLD GO 510 that was being sold in 2006. It is unfortunate that TomTom has 'reused' the model number. It's TomTom that has caused the confusion.
Your recent purchase is not at issue, and you won't have any issues with updates in the future.
